"It's fun. I like all the songs in the book"
Leah Matz
"I like being involved in the lessons"
Hope Spradlin
"
It's good to know what my child is learning so that I can participate"
Tammy Matz

A nylon string classic guitar is required. Children sizes are available to rent or purchase.

For children we use singing, note reading and ear training in a step- by-step approach that is fun and engaging. Another outstanding feature of this program is parent participation. The parent(s) or a supporting adult attends each class with their child to help and encourage them as they build confidence and security in their abilities.

An Interactive Program
Each student learns solos, duets, trios and chords in small groups as they master the fundamentals including ear training, reading and technique. The material is straightforward and user friendly. Each semester advances to a greater level of proficiency and fun!

The Advantage of Semesters
There are three continuing sessions in a year with break weeks between each semester so students may continue their studies year-round.

Our students pay less than other places because they are not paying for the break weeks. Students at other highly rated studios must pay monthly year-round to keep their spot in the teachers schedule.

The break weeks also give students time off from lessons; and for school age children and their parents time to adjust to the Fall and Spring schedules.

Tuition
$160 for new students - Intro 11 week sessions (includes orientation)
These sessions are offered starting later than the regular sessions to accommodate students that enroll after our regular classes begin or in the summer for school aged students.
$175 per 14 week sessions for continuing students.

Materials
Electronic Tuner $27.00 (one time cost) Second Semester
We have selected the best and easiest to use tuner so that the student can keep the guitar in tune from the beginning

Foot Stand $13.00 (one time cost) First Semester
This is used to elevate the left leg so that the guitar is in the best possible positioning and the student does not have to use the hands to hold the guitar in place. The hands and fingers are freer to play correctly.

Book $20.00
New Dimensions in Classical Guitar for Children by Sonia Michelson

This book will last for at least one year of study with five levels.
This method is time tested, innovative, and has proven successful in imparting essential concepts of musicianship and classic guitar performance to children.
A realistic approach to early childhood education inspired by the writings of both Suzuki and Kodaly.
