Interactive Learning
MGA specializes in interactive learning with small groups and lessons designed for the age and level of each student including children's and pre-teen programs as well as classes for teens and separate classes for adults. We teach from beginners to advanced players using methods that are clear, user-friendly and engaging through our own Guitar Academy© program which has been taught to thousands of students at Notre Dame, Indiana University and here at MGA since 1995. We offer classes and private lessons that include solos and ensemble music in a fun and rewarding interactive format.

Our Approach
Our teaching style is to clearly demonstrate, explain and guide each student through the materials with patience, encouragement and well defined lesson plans. Our practical strait forward materials get you playing music quickly and effectively. At MGA we understand that playing music is not just about "the fingers", but the whole person, so we concentrate on a variety of simple ideas that includes the hearing, the visual and the fingers. We teach reading, ear-training and fingerstyle techniques with music that radiates the beauty of the acoustic guitar.

History
Since 1987 MGA has been a unique place of learning the guitar in the South Bend/Mishawaka area with students coming from Northern Indiana and Southern Michigan including Elkhart, Granger, Niles and Edwardsburg. Miller Guitar Academy has trained thousands of students from age 7 and up including beginners to advanced players. Most of our students continue for several semesters and many for years.

Performances
MGA provides many opportunities for our students to perform in our community if they so choose. Our ensembles makes it easy at all levels to play with and for others.

Guitars
As a service to our students MGA also provides some of the best classic acoustic guitars available selected from import specialists who are not big box retailers, but are intimately involved with guitar makers who serve the needs of students and teachers. As teachers, how a guitar sounds and plays is of the utmost importance, as well as the price. Rental guitars are also available for those who want to minimize the initial cost of learning with credits and discounts when a student is ready to purchase.
